Journey to Sundarbans Forest Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at Dhaka International Airport & receive by our representative, transfer to hotel for check-in. This afternoon we have a short tour of Old Dhaka City. The experience of visiting Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, is overwhelming. What a city, love it and hate it, and that at the same time. You stand in traffic for hours, but you are amazed once in the old town. Welcome to the “Rickshaw Capital of the World”, the old-fashioned, nostalgic bicycle rickshaw. Four hundred thousand of them are in Dhaka alone. We’ll make a trip by rickshaw through the old town, there is no better way to explore the city. It’s like being in a movie, so much happening, so much street life, so many street vendors, so many shops and above all, a lot of people walking through the narrow alleys of this overwhelming city. We’ll also visit Lalbagh Fort and Pink Palace Ahsan Manjil. The Lalbagh Fort from 1678 will remind you of the memorable art of the Mughal Empire. The fort still stood still like it were in great battles. Enjoy the welcome dinner at the best local restaurant in the city.
Day 2: Dhaka – Bagerhat-Khulna
This morning we will drive through to the Mongla port, and on the way we will stop at Bagerhat city to visit The most special and most beautiful is the so-called ’60-domed mosque’; this Shai Gumbad mosque a UNESCO world heritage site. You will also visit the mausoleum of Khan Jahan Ali and several other 15th-century mosques such as the 9-domed mosque and smaller 1-dome mosques. The mosques are located in a beautiful rural environment and because there are many pilgrims, there is always something to do. This evening we will arrive at Khulna City and check in the hotel.
Day 3: Khulna – Sundarbans
Early in the morning check out hotel then boarding to the boat for the Journey to the Sundarbans forest. Our boat will cruise towards Kotka Wildlife Sanctuary and you will have the opportunity to observe fisherfolk at work in the channels, using a variety of fish, crab and shrimp-catching gear. After arrival Kotka Forest station we have a boat trip or a walk on the wooden walkway and enjoy the sunset.
Day 4: A full day in Sundarbans
This whole day will be full of activities. In the early morning, after a cup of tea we will have a Silent Country Boat Trip through the narrow creeks. This is the best way to observe wildlife, especially Birds and occasionally tigers. Around 8 breakfast on the lounge. Get ready for next three hours. We will start a gentle walk through the meadow looking at herds of Chital, the spotted deer. after about 40 minutes we will enter into the woods and will reach Badamtala beach. A pristine sandy beach. By now the Sun is high and you can not resist to ump into the tropical warm water. Now you can walk back to the boat and cruise to Kachikhali or you can walk along the beach for about an hour to meet the base there. A huge lunch and a bit rest then enjoy the sunset from the Egg Island. The boat will cruise for few hours during a fabulous BBQ. Then hang out on the lounge or on the observation deck and listen to the sound of the forest or look at the clear sky. The boat will be anchored at Tambulbunia for the night.
Day 5: Sundarbans-Khulna
After an early morning Country Boat Trip in the beautiful creeks of Tambulbunia the boat will start head resumes the cruise and reach Harbaria Eco Park by late morning. Enjoy the board walk in Harbaria through a beautiful patch of Sundri and other vegetation. Before it reaches the concrete jungle by evening there will be plenty of time to enjoy the cruise through the magical forest and to have your free time. After arrival, Khulna check in hotel and Dinner.
Day 6: Sundarbans-Khulna
After breakfast we will check out hotel and around 4 hours drive back to Dhaka. According to your individual Flight departure time, we will drop you at the airport and bid a fond farewell. We hope your unforgettable memories call you again to this land. (B.)
